Does "Deep wrinkle remover" work?

Posted under wrinkle remover by admin on Monday 30 March 2009

I'm going to try some nonsurgical methods of reducing my laugh lines. I have always been told I laugh and smile a lot — now I'm paying the price with these new deep laugh lines :(

I see that Neutrogena advertises a DEEP (not fine-line) wrinkle remover. Does it work? Do you have a better recommendation?

Thanks!!!
For a variety of healthy/unhealthy reasons I have not yet come to terms with aging. These deep lines mark my aging in a way I am not yet ready to handle. That's why I'm looking nonsurgically because I decided that eventually I'll get there and accept this new stage.

I'm not sure about any other wrinkle removers, but my advice would be to NOT buy the Neutrogena product. I tried it for several months and it didn't do a thing. Save your money and don't buy that one!

How can you get the most vibrant and healthy looking skin possible?

Posted under healthy looking skin by admin on Monday 30 March 2009

What are the best vitamins, foods, creams, etc…for your skin? What can you do to get the best, healthiest, most beautiful looking complextion possible?

Eat a well balanced diet, and drink an appropriate amount of water. Use a cream or lotion with no dyes or fragrances only if your skin is dry. You can add a once daily multivitamin and mineral tablet to cover all of your dietary needs. Cleanse your skin before you go to bed with a gentle glycerin based soap.

What do you think of this intro for my story?

Good Morning, Jerry.
It was her voice, the same angelic voice he had heard every morning. It had been years since he had heard it in person; his mother had long since passed away. But still, the mechanical recording brought pleasant memories flooding back to his head, if only for a moment.
The city was in trouble; common people had started to go missing sometime in April and while it began with only a few disappearances a week, it soon grew into a daily occurrence. The missing, to much surprise, had always returned but had procured such deterioration of the mind and body that they had to be executed on the gallows in the Public Square.
Lord Farling had called the mysterious condition the curse, the catchall term he used for anyone who went mad. But there hadn’t been a miscreant in the city for almost twenty years—a record he humbly claimed—and so this new threat had greatly disheartened him. And the rumours spreading through the streets, Jerry 35 quickly recalled while stepping out of bed into his private lavatory, were doing very little to calm the old man.
People throughout the city boasted having seen darkly cloaked strangers dashing through the streets of Sector Twelve, the infamous part of the city where the missing were found bleeding and acting like savages. They claimed that unlawful imprisonment and torture were the cause for blame but the king had dismissed their wild allegations.
Highly imaginative delusions, Jerry thought as he stepped out of the lavatory into the tiny sleeping chamber. He stood in front of an oval mirror removing lint from his black pants, admiring the single stripe of red and gold running along the length of each leg. His 6’1’’ frame filled his view; his unusually bright blue eyes dulled by the lack of sleep, making him appear older than his 50 years. His jaw was round and strong but softened considerably when he smiled, something he seldom did.
He brushed his hands through his thick, brown hair, revealing deep lines on his high forehead. He reached for his long red robe hanging on the wall and while doing so, his eyes casually glanced at the small ornate box sitting on his dresser; it had belonged to his father.
Ignoring the container, he continued to get dressed, brushing the creases out of his uniform and double-checking to see if his bootlaces were tied in the proper fashion. “Being the king’s Jerry has its perks, Christopher,” Lord Farling had once told him when he earned his promotion to stand by the king’s side. “But attention to detail is a must if one is to be trusted with my secrets.”
Satisfied with his appearance, Jerry 35 looked into the mirror once more; a meagre smile met his glance and he soon turned away, returning his gaze to the box made of bone. Sighing, Jerry shook his head and reached for the box; it still harboured the faint smell of Jasmine, a spice his mother had used around the house to eliminate odours. Upon opening it, he removed the tiny dirty-blonde lock of hair that was hidden inside; it was the only treasure he had of his mother and suddenly, he remembered the hardships it took to obtain it.
Okay, so I've actually finished the story back in March.
Three people have a copy of it (it's 58 pages) but no one has gotten back to me with their opinion.
My BF read and edited the story for me but he offered absolutely nothing in the way of constructive criticism or thought about it. ARGH!

Just to be on op of it?
Start now to keep it away?

Yes, your skin starts aging actually at 18 years of age I would use natural products though over the counter creams are more harmful than beneficial and your skin will becomr dependant on the chemicals thus not providing the natural nutrients for your skin

Im 23 and i love all of these (i have 3 kids and everyone stares at me and asked me how old i am Most people assume im still 16 alot of that is up to the genes but i take some credit for caring for my skin since i was about 16 Exercise eating healthy and drinking lots of water will also play a huge part in slowing down the aging process

Banana is wonderful as an anti-wrinkle treatment. Mash 1/4 banana until very creamy. Spread all over face and leave for 15-20 minutes before rinsing off with warm water followed by a dash of cold. Gently pat dry.

The best facial mask for wrinkles is honey. Place a cloth in warm water and apply to your face to open the pores. Smear on honey, and leave on for 15 to 30 minutes. Rinse off with warm water, then use cold water to close the pores. Use once a week.

How do I get healthier younger looking skin?

Posted under looking younger by admin on Monday 30 March 2009

My face looks kinda old unhealthy and I have a discolored skin tone and I’m at a young age ( guess I haven’t been taking much care of my face when I was younger and now I’m regretting it) what tips should I know, what should I do, and what products should I buy?

The biggest things that affect your skin are:

Smoking – Don't do it if you hope to have nice skin. Smoking ruins your skin and accelerates the process of aging, as well as being terrible for you in myriad other ways. It also causes lines around your mouth from pursing your lips. Drinking in excess or binge drinking (i.e. drinking more than a glass of wine a day) will also help dull your skin, and of course any drugs you take will as well.

Sun – 80-90% of visible aging is due to sun-damage. Stay out of the sun during peak hours (10am – 3pm) when you can, and wear a physical block sunscreen everyday even when it is cloudy, with an SPF of 30 or higher. I love Eucerin Everyday Protection SPF 30 moisturizer, which can be found at drugstores. It uses physical blocks (like titanium dioxide and zinc) instead of chemicals to help protect your skin for a longer amount of time (chemical blocks need to be reapplied frequently when their ingredients stop working whereas physical blocks create a physical barrier between your skin and the sun).

Diet and hydration – Drink at LEAST 8 glasses of water a day, each being 8 oz. It is preferable to drink 10-12, but you should never let a day go by where you drink less than 8. Many people's premature forehead lines aren't due to age but dehydration. Carry a water bottle around and refill it frequently. Diet is also a big factor. Your skin is the body's largest organ. Therefore, when you are healthy, it will show in your skin just as much as it will show in your cholesterol test. Stay away from processed foods, meat, and dairy, which are difficult to digest. A diet which is mainly plant-based is healthiest, but if nothing else eat tons of fruits and vegetables, and try to eat your carbs from whole-grain sources (brown rice, oats, quinoa, barley, and whole grain breads etc. instead of white bread or white rice). Exercise obviously is also helpful.

Sleep- When you can, get 8 hours a night. Your skin regenerates and heals itself while you sleep, so if you don't sleep enough your skin will show it.

Skin care regimen – Taking good care of your skin mostly means taking care of yourself in general, as outlined above. But using good products is helpful in maintaining a good complexion and reversing the effects of aging once you've done the damage. Use an exfoliant product once or twice a week to remove dead skin cells that make the skin look dull. (Gently washing your face with a clean washcloth counts as exfoliating, or you can use a scrub or chemical exfoliant.) Use a gentle cleanser twice a day, in the morning and at night before bed. Use a rich, non-comedogenic (won't clog your pores) moisturizer at night. In the morning, use the moisturizer with SPF after washing and patting dry your face. Age spots can be treated by a dermatologist. They may prescribe a topical cream like Retina that exfoliates chemically and allows dark spots to fade faster. When you use these, however, you need to be especially careful about wearing sunscreen religiously because if you don't you just make your skin more sensitive to the sun and will reinforce these age-spots. At the drug store, you can find products with Retinol, which is the over-the-counter grade form of Retina.

Massage – You can return bloodflow to the face and encourage cell turnover by giving yourself a light facial massage in the morning as you wash your face. Use the tips of your fingers in a gentle circular motions over the face.

Dry brushing – This is a great technique to help stimulate cell turnover in your skin in general and improve health. Use a soft-bristle skin brush and start at the bottom of your feet, going over your skin in gentle circular motions. Progress up the legs in this manner, and continue up your torso, hands, and arms. Continue on your chest and back. Overall, it should take between 3-10 minutes to do this, depending how long you want to spend. Try to do it everyday or at least once a week to stimulate your skin. The point is to direct the brush the opposite of the way your blood flows out from the heart (which is why you start up from the feet rather than starting from the upper body). This is not appropriate for sensitive areas of skin like that of the face, but it is great exfoliation for the rest of the body. As the name suggests, do it when your skin is dry, before you shower or bathe.

Recommended products:
Eucerin Everyday Protection moisturizer SPF 30
Retina prescribed by a dermatologist or over-the-counter Retinol products
A rich moisturizer for night
A gentle cleanser (I use Purity by Philosophy)
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

how to reduce wrinkles without using any cosmetic products?

Posted under reducing wrinkles by admin on Monday 30 March 2009

Can u reduce wrinkles quickly on hands etc by using common home remedies instead of any products that u have to buy? If so list the most effective ones u know.

Here are some tipes:

– Use any type of moisturizer / hand lotion

- Hydrate by splashing during short breaks throughout the day

– Home spa with damp washcloth over face in the evening while listening to tunes or the tv

- Eat well-balanced nutritious meals

- Try different soaps like oatmeal (my fav), see Amish soaps on eBay store sites, for example.

Where can I buy an over the counter cream that will remove brown spots on my skin?

Posted under skin cream by admin on Monday 30 March 2009

I have rough, brown spots on my arms from years of sun exposure. Does anyone know of a skin cream that will erase them, that can be bought over the counter?

I'm not sure if it would work for your brown spots, but I use lemon juice on a cotton ball to lighten freckles on my face.

There might also be skin bleaching creams available at the beauty supply store (Sally's?) near you?

How much money do you spend on beauty products?

Posted under beauty products by admin on Monday 30 March 2009

How much money do you spend on beauty products? Like make up, skin cleansers, lotions, nail polish? What do you think you spend the most on?
How much do you spend each month?

lets see.
on makeup- i don't usually spend too much on this. just like 6-10 dollars on things like blush, eyeshadow, foundation etc etc. i'll spend like 15-30 dollars on lip gloss though because i buy it from sephora or chanel.

skin cleansers- i'll usually spend about 10-20. i get the neutrogena acne stress relief or one from sephora.

lotions- i always get lotion from bath and body works. i love that store. so i spend about 7+ dollars on a bottle about…

nail polish- sometimes i go to a local drug store and buy one for like 1-5 dollars. like a cheapy polish. and if i really want a good color, i'll buy the chanel polishes for about 20 dollars.

i think i spend the most money on lip glosses. i would have to say it is my favorite item. but i also get stuff from benefit cosmetics. they have little kits that have a little of everything in it. like one kit is "big beautiful eyes" and another has eye shadows, lumination, and lip gloss. those are all about 30 dollars.

good question!

oh and i spend about 75 each month every month.
im only 14 so i dont really need that much makeup. i like the natural look too.

Improve Your Skin Care With Wrinkle Eye Cream

Posted under skin cream by admin on Sunday 29 March 2009

Getting older has its perks. Once a woman reaches a certain age of maturity she qualifies for reduced prices when it comes to cups of coffee, theater tickets and even a bus pass. However there are other less enjoyable things that come with age. One of those is wrinkles. Almost every woman starts thinking about an anti wrinkle eye cream even before she retires.

The skin on the face is largely the most sensitive. Things like sun tanning, make-up and even smoking can have a negative impact on the way a woman looks. All of these factors can eventually contribute to wrinkles so finding an anti wrinkle eye cream can be likened to finding the fountain of youth. The right cream can actually take years off the way a woman looks.

Infomercials have become all the rage in the past decade or so. Staying up late one evening will have you privy to ads for everything from cooking grills to anti wrinkle eye cream. In the case of the latter, you’ll be bombarded with before and after images of women who have used the anti wrinkle eye cream and gotten great results. You may be skeptical of all the promises being made and you’d be wise in not rushing off to the phone to call the toll-free number and give out your credit card.

The majority of these creams, whether purchased from a television ad, a drug store or a high end skin care boutique are largely all the same. The goal of any anti wrinkle eye cream is to diminish the appearance of the small lines that develop around the eyes. To do this the anti wrinkle eye cream must possess some substance that makes it moisturizing. The more moisturizing one of these cosmetic creams is, the better the results will be.

If you are unsure of which is best for you consider your skin type. For a woman with very dry skin she’s going to want to purchase and use an anti wrinkle eye cream that contains the optimum amount of moisturizers. This is likely something she’s done throughout her life; chosen beauty products that add a boost of nourishment to her skin. For a woman who struggles with oily skin she’s more apt to choose an anti wrinkle eye cream that is made just for oily skin.

In any case taking good care of facial skin is vitally important when it comes to avoiding aging. Even if a woman is already noticing some small wrinkles or frown lines there’s a lot she can do to abate the effects of aging. Using a sunscreen under make-up each and everyday, exercising, and eating healthy will all contribute to a younger, fresher look.
